Long, lovely lashes are alluring, attractive, and draw attention to your eyes, one of the most expressive facial zones. Unfortunately, not everyone is born with naturally luscious lashes; some people need to turn to alternative measures to get the look they want. Wearing the right mascara is an option, as are falsies, but they increase the need for upkeep and maintenance, something that can interrupt your day. Luckily there’s a solution: an Elleebana lash lift.
THE ELLEEBANA SOLUTION
Elleebana Lash Lifts re-invent the idea of lash accentuation by boosting your natural lashes, rather than forcing you to rely on cosmetics or falsies, which are prone to failure.
Instead, this treatment boosts the shape and volume of your lash through an eye-safe procedure similar to perming human hair.
If you’re curious about this process and whether it might help you look your best, we want to help.
In the rest of this post, you’ll find important answers to our most common questions about Elleebana, including how long it lasts, how it feels to have a lash lift, and whether or not it’s a suitable treatment option for you.
WHAT EXACTLY IS ELLEEBANA?
Elleebana is a relatively new lash lift treatment designed to take the pain and effort out of getting great, eye-framing lashes. Like perms and straightening for the hair on your head, it uses well-researched chemicals to gently mold the shape of your lashes, making them curlier and more prominent on your face.
Treatment with Elleebana includes two application stages:
HOW LONG DOES AN ELLEEBANA LASH LIFT LAST?
How long Elleebana Lash Lift lasts depends on how well you take care of your eyelashes, your genetic predisposition to straight lashes, and even your age.
However, Elleebana treatments last between eight and 10 weeks for most patients regardless of age. Some patients may need additional treatments after just six weeks, but loss of results before this point is extremely rare.
We do know that eyelash care and good health is critical for longevity.
Taking care of yourself, eating a healthy diet, and avoiding harsh waterproof mascaras or sun damage can help you retain your results for longer. Being gentle on your treated eyelashes when removing or applying makeup also matters!
IS ELLEEBANA SAFE?
For almost all patients, the answer is yes.
The chemicals in Elleebana are specifically designed for use around the eyes but must be used carefully and correctly by someone who has the right training for optimal safety.
You should never attempt to apply Elleebana to your own eyes, even if you have training, as accurate and precise processing is very difficult without accidentally touching the eyes.
In testing, the most common side effects and complications associated with Elleebana Lash Lifts were mild stinging and allergic reactions.
Both of these are exceptionally rare, and should not be a concern for the average healthy patient.
If you have a history of allergic reactions or sensitive skin reactions, especially to other treatments, your treatment provider may recommend sensitivity testing – this involves placing a small dot of Elleebana solution on the inside of your wrist and leaving it in place for 24 hours.
If you react, you may be allergic to Elleebana. If you don’t react, you can likely move forward with treatment safely.
WHO SHOULD USE ELLEEBANA?
Anyone who wants to improve the appearance of their lashes with less time, effort, and struggle.
This includes patients with sparse lashes, idiopathic loss of lash hair, stereotypically light or red hair, or patients who simply want to skip the process of putting on falsies every morning.
In just 20 minutes, you can achieve the same results that normally take you up to 20 minutes per day.
Elleebana may also be right for patients who struggle to tolerate false lashes or mascara. Unlike falsies, Elleebana doesn’t add weight or bulk from secondary materials.
You wear your own natural lashes only – meaning there’s less of a risk for eye irritation and fatigue.
We know that Elleebana works best when applied to healthy, nourished lashes. In fact, that’s why the first step contains nourishing Lanolin. However, issues with hair loss, age-related greying, and other lash conditions may not preclude you from treatment.
Speak with your treatment provider if you aren’t sure.
WHO SHOULDN’T USE ELLEEBANA?
There are some patients for whom the risk associated with Elleebana lash lift may outweigh the benefits.
This includes patients with eye infections, certain genetic eye conditions, conjunctivitis, or an active stye.
Many of these contraindications are transitory and temporary in nature.
We may ask you to delay your Elleebana session until you have fully healed to prevent a recurrence of your infection. Once you treat the active infection successfully, Elleebana lash lifts become safe to use again.
Patients who are recovering from Lasik eye surgery should consult a physician to ensure safe treatment, as should those who have narrow-angle glaucoma, advanced genetic eye conditions, post-chemotherapy hair loss, or alopecia.
Your medical spa can work with your doctor and communicate regarding your goals and needs to ensure the safest, most effective treatment protocol possible.
HOW OFTEN CAN YOU HAVE A LASH LIFT?
You can have Elleebana treatments as often as you need them to maintain your look in almost all circumstances. However, we recommend that patients don’t use treatments more often than once every four to six weeks.
Treating lashes more often than this carries a small risk for damage to lash hair shafts, which may cause excessive lash shedding in a small number of patients.
That said, don’t forget that most patients are still enjoying their full results at the four to six-week point.
Shape and volume changes don’t typically begin to decline until well after this, letting you come in again for another treatment after results from your first session begin to fade.
In this manner, you can effectively use Elleebana back-to-back and enjoy results 100 percent of the time.
